Thanks, Ian & Don, I was having trouble agreeing with your assessment, as all images on Bold and in Common, 1997 (Oec.II) show a post medial fascia; until I read the original description. "The variation of this species in the occasional presence of an anterior fascia which is usually wholly absent is quite singular, but I have no doubt that the two forms really constitute a single species ; the difference is not sexual."

Yes, the moths lacking the post medial fascia seem to be quite common. Both forms are illustrated in 'Moths in the ACT', G. Cocking et al (2022), p. 66.
